Abstract

Accumulating very large numbers of dilapidated shipping containers in ports around the
world, some intended for use once and it is costly trans-shipment to the country of origin
empty; the perfect solution was the idea of reuse for another purpose. Architect see such
containers as a ' module' that is structurally equipped and all you need is just reproduce it as
desired.
Container architecture emerged as an economic and environmental solution that transforms
containers to buildings that are fast, cheap, durable and highly flexible in processing, within
the modern vision of sustainable, that see waste as a wealth you need to invest to save nonrenewable
Earth resources for future generations.
The research problem comes from the possibility of transforming these containers into
architectural spaces capable of containing all human activities and achieving the physical and
psychological comfort of the residents. The researchers have done a description and analysis
of one of the models that won several awards, to put light on Strengths and weaknesses in
internal and external treatment and elements confirmed on the sustainability and
environmental compatibility of the model. The results of the analysis of this model ensured
that through the application of sustainability methods in container buildings such as the use
of passive solar systems, natural ventilation methods, relying on natural lighting during
daytime and the use of saving lamps, This contributes to energy saving as well as achieving
psychological and physical comfort for individuals in the building interior space.
