Abstract

The concept of universal design and its principles emerged due to the development of the idea of barrier-free design, design for all, inclusive design, and accessible design significantly in recent years. The new era of interior design comes to achieve equality through technology to provide amenities for users of interior spaces. It fits the seven principles of universal design in finding a clear and straightforward design thought compatible. That meets the needs of all different groups in (motor, auditory, visual, or verbal) human abilities, where the research problem emerged, which revolves around the answer to the following question: How contemporary technology contributes to the application of universal design principles in interior spaces? The research aims to monitor and analyze current technological capabilities that contribute to achieving universal design principles in interior design and explain the possibility of their application and impact on supporting the human perception of the contents of interior spaces and its impact on the flexibility of job performance. The research followed the descriptive-analytical approach in describing and analyzing some Elements that depend on contemporary technology. And one of the most important results of the study that he reached is to enrich the design idea effectively between the space and its user by understanding human diversity more profoundly and achieving all his physical needs.
