Impact of Sustainability Principles on the Development of Contemporary Furniture Design Thought

Abstract

    The association of the idea of ​​sustainability since 1980, with the economic, social and environmental fields. In 1989, the World Committee on Environment and Development (the World Committee for the Development of the Environment), the Brundtland Committee, or the Brundtland Committee stipulated the definition of surrounding sustainability: the surroundings of the present without prejudice to the calibration of generations on its surroundings. Economics of sustainable design, exterior materials, processing, processing and environmental remediation.
     The importance of the furniture industry is not only economic and social, but it is also an environmentally compatible industry, and accordingly the trend towards sustainable development. Its main priority is to achieve greater economic stability, develop furniture industrial parks, adjust import tariffs for furniture and wood products, reduce volatile organic compounds (VOC), and enhance waste management. And also creating a competitive environment in this industry. Hence, the research problem lies in posing several questions, including: What are the modern trends for the design and manufacture of contemporary sustainable furniture? The research also aims to discover unconventional materials developed in the design and manufacture of sustainable furniture.
