Sculpture and its Role in the Development of Prosthetic Production

Abstract

Art has a major role in serving the community, especially in treatment, it deals not only with artistic activity for the purpose of expression and breathing inside the patient, but also has a role in treating anxiety and depression, as well as improving the psychological state, so the role of the sculptor comes in helping the patient to compensate him for the limbs he lost by carving the missing part and making it more like the real and the design of the prosthetic limbs to the ancient Egyptian and Roman Empire and continued to develop throughout the world throughout history. (Thurston 2007)
The researcher presents the stages of the development of the industry, through the role of some sculptors, and presents the examples of these attempts to name a few
