Abstract

This study aimed to employ the techniques of embroidery with conductive threads for the design and production of electronic textiles, to increase the aesthetic values of textiles by using embroidery techniques with conductive threads to design and convert them into electronic textiles.

The study used the experimental descriptive approach for its suitability to achieve the objectives of the research and verify a hypothesis through the implementation of five different designs using embroidery techniques with conductive threads. These designs were evaluated by fifteen specialized arbitrators through a questionnaire, where the aesthetic and marketing axes of the five designs were evaluated. The results showed that the best designs for the aesthetic axis can be arranged as follows: design number 2, then 4, then 3, then 1, and then 5.

The second and fourth designs in the marketing axis were characterized by achieving the best results from the point of view of the arbitrators in all the questions of the questionnaire axes due to their fulfillment of all the requirements required for marketing smart textiles. The quality of the design was 99% and 98.01%, respectively. the material of the cloth on which it was executed, also balanced the embroidery and lighting in the samples. The second design was distinguished by obtaining the best results in the marketing axis because of the accuracy in choosing lighting and materials to obtain a good product that can be marketed in the local market.
