The research aims to study different types of fabrics used in men's jackets, and study the effect of different types of fabric on the quality of men’s jackets. This research follows the experimental method.
In this study, a practical study was applied as part of the clothing production technology course on the students of the fourth year, Department of Ready-made Garments, at the Faculty of Applied Arts, Damietta University. To study the effect of the quality of fabrics on the quality of men’s jackets. The 30 students were divided into five groups. Each group chose a type of winter fabric suitable for men's jackets.
The research concluded that the best fabric in terms of design quality is water-resistant polyester. The best fabric in terms of sewing quality is leather. The best fabric in terms of fit quality is felt material with fur. Water-resistant polyester, leather, felt and fur materials achieved high and similar quality rates in the design, sewing and fit of men's winter jackets, according to the opinions of experts and specialists. The study showed that good selection of materials is an important and decisive factor that leads to achieving a high level of quality for men's winter jackets.
