Abstract

Furniture is an integral element of architecture and is inherent to it, as there has always been a close link between architecture and furniture in building the architectural space throughout history, and it may be difficult to determine the common denominators between furniture and architecture as the size of architecture is much larger, but indeed there is a fairly strong link between the process of Furniture design and the process of buildings design in which such furniture is placed. Prouvé said, “There is no fundamental difference between building furniture and building a house.” Furniture can be thought of as a microcosm of architecture. In general, structural design and detail are still dealt with, but not with the size of the building. People interact with buildings much in the same way they interact with furniture, but the level of interaction varies only with regard to what you specifically do with the object. Hence, the research problem appears which can be posed in this question: Is it possible to create space on the scale of architecture in the light of the language of furniture design? What is the holistic art concept? The research aims to identify the concept of integrated design for architecture and furniture "the holistic art concept" in the modern sense, in addition to the relationship between furniture and architecture through philosophical thought. The research methodology also includes a case study of one of the architectural houses in which the holistic art concept is evident through study and analysis. One of the most important results of the study was that furniture and architecture depend on each other. There are different degrees of interaction between furniture and architecture. In each era, there is a influence that cannot be completely separated. In addition, technology and architecture style affect the direction of furniture development, as we recommend the necessity of conducting many studies concerned with how to design and structural analysis of modern architectural furniture.
