Abstract

Abstract:
Experimental approach still has many achievements in all scientific and applied fields. Therefore, its importance in the field of ceramic art studio isn’t less important than in other fields, especially when the potter artist try to achieve aesthetic and artistic visions depends on ceramic body characteristics, The one of factors that affecting the ceramic products, especially if these bodies are distinguished by distinctive and unique characteristic, such as the translucency characteristic of Bone China and Porcelain. This research try for discovering the translucency ceramic bodies by experimental approach, to produce translucency ceramic bodies  which is can be heat treated at low temperatures to benefit from it for creation of ceramic art works that depend on this property. Also it try to present the experiences of internationals potters artists who used this feature in creating their ceramic work arts,  according to recent studies using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), the microstructure of the Bone china consists of Anorthite CaO.Al_2 O_3.2SiO_2 , Quartz, β-Tricalcium phosphate , in addition to Calcium Aluminosilicate (CAS) as a glass material. Red lead oxide (Pb3O4) was  add  to the components in three different proportions for the samples B1, B2, B3 to study its effect on reducing the temperature which is required for the experimental samples from 1260 °C to 1050 °C . As a result, samples B2, B3 showed ceramic bodies characterized by translucency that were heat treated at 1050°C. These results were used to produce ceramic works that aesthetically depended on the translucency of the ceramic body.
