Abstract
Future knowledge and constant aspiration towards future products call for following up the industrial products market with a continuous view, due to the constant demand for these products, and the continuous jumps and high competition in the industrial products market between companies in the market through the introduction of innovative products in short periods of time are a major support for this.
Sci-fi movies and their futuristic products, design lines and color identity are considered an important source of inspiration for some industrial designers, so that this helps them keep up with the volume of demand and the constant change in markets.
In light of the recent boom in the field of artificial intelligence, we had to use these tools to accelerate the pace of the design process, by producing future concepts of industrial products based mainly on inspiration from science fiction films, so that the industrial designer can codify these concepts and make them suitable for production and actual use.
Between the inspiration process and artificial intelligence tools, we had to develop a specific strategy to organize the inspiration process, and make optimal use of those concepts produced by artificial intelligence tools, so that this strategy is applied in design education to test its efficiency and ability to complete the design conceptualization stage.
The experiments and design practices followed with the students of the fourth division - at the Department of industrial design at the Faculty of Applied Arts - at Damietta University, were shown through the course of the graduation project. During the current academic year 2022-2023; the results of the experiments have shown a high quality of future concepts of the field of industrial design in general and industrial products in particular. The research will be presented in detail on how to take advantage of artificial intelligence tools and platforms within design courses in developing design concepts of products.
