Abstract

Abstract:
The concept of sustainability in art has spread more widely in recent times, and this trend has become the most important and prominent in the artistic arena. Indeed, it has become an important indicator of the extent of the success of the artistic work, whether it achieves the concepts and standards of sustainability. The rapid development the world is witnessing in the world of technology, which does not pay attention to the extent of the impact of industrial waste and emissions in the long term, which makes this trend of great importance in reducing the influence of technology on the environment and its destruction. Art has been and still the best tool in achieving and solving the problems and repercussions of society. Artists and designers rushed to pay attention to achieving sustainability in their artistic works by reducing the negative effects of their works, optimal use of raw materials and their waste, and compatibility and harmony of their artistic works with their surrounding environment. The concept of sustainability in general is the extent of our ability to live in harmony with our environment. Some believe that achieving sustainability in art is working to create works of art that last and maintain their appearance from one generation to another without harming our environment and preserving it to create a better world for future generations. Therefore, the research is concerned with using... The terrazzo technique achieves sustainable artistic and sculptural works by using environmentally friendly materials that do not affect them with any possible harm, or by using recycled materials from waste plastic, rubber, glass, and other materials that go into making the artwork. The research aims to raise intensive awareness of the importance of sustainability in art and in various areas of society in general, and the extent of the ability to benefit from the aesthetics of terrazzo in achieving sustainability through analysis of some artistic and sculptural models and carrying out applied experiments.
