Abstract

Abstract
The study is based on a systematic review of previous architectural heritage research, focusing on qualitative perspectives on heritage preservation. Not only is there an increase in awareness of the social value of buildings within the built environment, but the adaptive reuse of current building forms is also becoming more widespread in our Arab surroundings. The research addresses the scope of heritage across three main areas: the concept of heritage and architectural heritage, the importance of heritage architecture, the factors affecting patterns of heritage construction and contemporary cultural transformations.
The results revealed ways to draw inspiration from the architectural heritage, whether direct reproduction, development, or originalisation. The Islamic heritage, especially the art of the arabesque, was inspired by the implementation of printed products for pillow covers and armchairs. Also, some modern inscriptions were inspired by the arabesque doors and windows to make wallpaper and carpets printed using printing. Manual (silkscreen) or digital methods such as computerised printing using AutoCAD and Photoshop.
