The Role of Interior Design and Art Therapy For Rehabilitation Centers For Depressed Patients

Abstract

Rehabilitation centers are facilities that provide specialized care and treatment for patients recovering from various depressive conditions. The research has reached several results, the most important of which is to reach the importance of interior design and its important role in addressing the spaces for rehabilitation centers, by studying the most important standards and conditions necessary and how to achieve them, and one of the most important recommendations was that the awareness and awareness of engineers and designers must be raised with appropriate designs for patients who suffer from some psychological problems and integrate art therapy methods in different interior spaces with the importance of employing materials and colors appropriate to the interior spaces. This research aims to identify the design trends of rehabilitation centers for the treatment of depression cases with the combination of different methods of art therapy within the different internal spaces to overcome the problems faced by the internal spaces of rehabilitation centers in their primitive form and the research dealt with an analysis of some private rehabilitation centers for the treatment of depression cases and the study of design standards that can be taken into account in the spaces for that type of centers in terms of natural lighting, colors, ventilation and contact with nature. The interior design of these centers can have a significant impact on patient outcomes, technology and innovation are key factors affecting the design and functionality of rehabilitation centers.
