Abstract

Abstract:
Fashion is not just a word, but in fact it is an art based on science and application, and its change is only an indicator of social changes within society. In the past, this change occurred very slowly, as technological changes began, in addition to the long time required by means of communication.
  People often wear a fixed clothing style throughout their lives, and may even be passed down through generations. Today, fashion is changing very quickly, and modern technology has created new fashions that achieve competition. Modern means of communication helped speed up its spread. Hence, surrealism penetrated the depths of the world of fashion, including new quotations, whether in lines, colors, or materials, to reach a fashion that others follow, and from here came the idea of the research, “Utilizing the philosophy of surrealism in haute couture design.”
The importance of the research is due to a deeper understanding of the philosophy of the surrealist style, and providing constructive opinions and design proposals that contribute to employing the surrealist movement in haute couture design.
 The research has found that the best results for applying the philosophy of surrealist style to high-end fashion are by providing some suggestions for additions or deletions to the designs to make them a combination of the philosophy of surrealist art and as close as possible to the main goal, which is purchasing and wearing.
